She had 6 puppies and just after the birth she began eating grassland but she has been eating it for 2 1/2 months already. Is it normal or is she needing something else?

she needs more nutrition. Most dogs start eating grass if thier stomach is upset. The Chlorophyll in the plants help settle their stomach. Try switching her brand of food to something more nutritious and healthy.

Probably trying to get the taste out of her mouth from cleaning the puppies.

dogs usually eat grass when they have a upset stomach. has she still been eating her dog food? if not take her to the vet and see whats wrong becuase she could have ulcers in her stomach.

Dogs do eat grass sometimes. Some of them vomit immediately after doing so. There are only theories about why they do this.

I own a Great Dane, and a friend also has one the same age/size/reproductive status/etc. We let them out in the yard to play and, after intial roughousing, they settle right down and start grazing. It’s hilarious. We call them “ponies”. I mean, they look just like ponies grazing in a pasture. But they don’t do it long, and rarely to the point of vomiting.

We truly do not know why dogs eat grass. Most dogs prefer a certain type of grass over others—it likely tastes good to them.
Your dog will need to be fed properly since she has 6 puppies and you should consult with your vet regarding the best diet.

Dog will sometimes eat grass to purge their stomachs but be careful what grass you allow them to eat because you don’t want any grass that might has chemicals on it.
If the eating is excessive, ask your vet. Her diet may not be satisfying her nutritional needs. Don’t let her form a compulsion to eat the grass….much harder to stop.

Puppies need much more nutrition than a full grown dog because of their fast growth.

Dogs usually eat grass to settle their stomach. Pregnancy may have changed her nutritional needs and her stomach chemistry.

When my mamas had babies, I gave them a mixture of 1/2 puppy chow and 1/2 adult food. The puppy chow helps her produce better quality milk for the babies, and adult food should be specific to your dog’s needs as well. If she spends most of her time outdoors, try an outdoor formula. If she’s an inside dog, you may want to try an indoor formula.

Usually, nothing extreme is wrong. Just watch her and make sure she is not throwing-up. If she starts that, it may be a sign of worse problems and she needs to see a vet.
